Kutani has turned out to be a very reliable clay for this anagama. Even in firings which have been mostly failures because of insufficient temperature, the porcelain pieces develop a nice, if somewhat overly white, glaze. Porcelain bowls tend to be amazingly functional with a strong glaze on the inside and outside of the pieces even when placed in the back of the anagama chamber.
